It is important to keep up to date in the clinical area of your expertise and also to be updated regularly in the more general medical journals like the ones coming out weekly. Most journals will allow you to subscribe to their e-toc (toc=table of contents). This means that at the journal’s website you can give your email address and thereafter you will automatically receive the table of contents each time a new issue of the journal is published.

It is also a good idea to get e-toc from the most important journals in your clinical area and also the most important of the major general journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, BMJ etc.
